Life Cycle & Habitat Voice Thread
My original plan to collaborate with the 1st grade class was for Ms. Contreras class to respond then my class. Unfortunately, because of time we were not able to do that. We still used a spiral curriculum with our students because both Voice Thread projects contained life cycle and habitats. This lesson plan was a PROJECT WILD lesson with my modifications for my students. The TEKS for 1st grade were life cycles and 3rd grade was habitat. On the Voice Thread I used visual cueing by adding the buttons to respond to on each slide. When I created the Voice Thread instructions I was not sure if they were going to be useful to my students. I decided to use Rogers Diffusion of innovations ask a student if the instructions were helpful, her comment was " I did not use it" but on the slides " The respond button on reach slide was helpful. I would really like to see other classes comment to each other about the slides. I know that will be my next Voice Thread project!!
Voice Thread changes:
I would upload my Voice Thread as a .jpeg file because I lost my graphics to presentation.
Remember to create your Voice Thread use Powerpoint and upload file.
After discussions with my peers they had problems because of the same people using one account. I was the only one in my grade level and still had problems because I was logged into another computer.
Here are a few other Voice Thread projects from my peers:
Trish Love
Michelle Theriot
Princess McChester
HOTS for You!!
1. Do you feel that Voice Thread is too challenging for your students?
2. What would you do to create a higher level of thinking?

VOICE THREAD COMPLETE!!!
My Habitat Lesson
was a complete success. Let me just say Voice Thread is challenging but when you figure out what you want your students to learn, it's a piece of cake. By creating your storyboard it helps you collect your thoughts of what you want your slides to look like, this is just the beginning. Before my lesson I decided to create a Voice Thread Instruction sheet for the students to use as a tool if they need help. In my Voice Thread to direct the students I added the buttons on each slide to tell the students what is expected of them on each slide. When I began the first student I choose was going to be the assistant, therefore any other student can ask the assistant for help. This helped me to monitor the class while they did their activity. Every student was excited to be apart of the Voice Thread and wanted to know when it was their turn.

My collaborating project is with Ms.Mari's 1st grade classroom and the objective is science-life cycle and my 3rd grade class objective is science- habitat of animals.
My Voicethread focus for this lesson is, science, the habitat of frogs, turtles, and other animals. I want the students to compare and contrast their habitat. Technology uses are a great tool for students to research and study the animals. The students will be able to respond to the different types of tools ( type, speak, draw and/or video) using voicethread. I look forward to seeing the results of what the students can produce with my guidance.
Coming Soon.....
The lesson plan , storyboard, and planning documents are still in progress but check for my updates on this exciting life cycle/habitat lesson plan .

Technology Integration Experience Thoughts (TIE)
What is a VoiceThread?
A voicethread is transforming media into collaborative spaces with video, voice and text commenting.
VoiceThreads are a wonderful use of technology to connect students, teachers, and parents with their class. One of the best tools in my opinion is the communication between students in groups/ individually and sometimes in other countries. I have reviewed a few examples of voicethreads Newton and Barrington that have displayed great ideas for my future voicethreads. I look forward to incorporate my lesson plans with the use of voicethread, to give my students a different approach to learning. I have many ideas that can incorporate many different subjects. I have reviewed this voicethread math strategies and like the use of strategies used to solve a problem... check it out.
